ART TORONTO 2023
This year marks the gallery’s inaugural participation with Art Toronto as we present new and recent works, in Booth C14, by: Abdolreza Aminlari, Robert Burnier, and Emma Welch.
ABDOLREZA AMINLARI (Iranian, b. 1979) lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Aminlari completed the AICAD/New York Studio Residency Program in 2001 and received his BFA from the College for Creative Studies in 2002. Recent and notable solo exhibitions include Situations Gallery (New York, NY), ANDREW RAFACZ (Chicago, IL), O Gallery (Tehran, Iran), Jackie Klempay (Brooklyn, NY), Longhouse Projects (New York, NY), Taymour Grahne (New York, NY), and Cuadro Gallery (Dubaie, UAE). Group exhibitions include Can Doren Waxter (New York, NY), Tyler Park Presents (Los Angeles, CA), Hunterdon Art Museum (Clinton, NJ), Hales Gallery (London, UK), Golestani Gallery (Dusseldorf, Germany), NADA New York with Situations Gallery (New York, NY), Foley Gallery (New York, NY), Abrons Art Center (New York, NY), and Black Ball Projects (New York, NY). His work is included in numerous private and public collections.
ROBERT BURNIER (American, b. 1969) lives and works in Chicago, IL. He received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute in 2016 and a BS in Computer Science from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 1991. He has had recent solo exhibitions at blank projects (Cape Town, SA), Massey Klein Gallery (New York, NY), David B. Smith Gallery (Denver, CO), and The Arts Club of Chicago (Chicago, IL). Recent group exhibitions include New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art at the University of Southern Indiana (Evansville, IN), Corvi-Mora (London, UK), Vacation (New York, NY), Korn Gallery at Drew University (Madison, NJ), Mana Contemporary (Chicago, IL), The Art Institute of Chicago (Chicago, IL), and Elmhurst Art Museum (Elmhurst, IL). Burnier’s large-scale installation Black Tiberinus was on view on Chicago’s riverfront 2018-2019. He has exhibited at art fairs in New York, Miami, Chicago, London, Mexico City, Milan and Copenhagen. His work is included in numerous public and private collections.
EMMA WELCH (Canadian, b. 1993) holds a BAH in Studio Art from the University of Guelph (ON, Canada). She has had recent solo exhibitions at Hunt Gallery (Toronto) and Project Underwing (Toronto). Recent group exhibitions include Galerie Nicolas Robert (Montreal), Erin Stump Projects (Toronto), Spacemaker ll (Toronto), and Egret Egress (Toronto). Her work is included in the collections of Scotiabank, The Royal Bank of Canada, and several private collections.
