Chicago, IL, September 20, 2019 – ANDREW RAFACZ begins the Fall 2019 season with Perfect Strangers, a solo exhibition of new works by Jacques Louis Vidal in Gallery Two. The exhibition continues through Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Made these images thinking about previously unknown levels of intensity that are
present on a daily basis. Intensity of information and social interactivity are the
main elements, but also intensity of unknown expectation for one’s self and each
other.

Usually frame the unknown zone as a paradox: an ephemeral place that can still
be stably defined as the negative space of the presently known.

These here are strangers in our world: new materials, secret memories, unknown substances, travelers from the past, fictional diseases, traumas. The subjects,
and the topics of our world are temporary, but they are part of the permanence of
the feed.. the intense transmission.

All Them are strangers to me even. Their subjects, and the topics of our world
are temporary and I have to believe in the permanence of the feed, in the dense transmission that will go on and on even without people. We don’t know what we
are, these shepherdz do not either, please go forward.

Every last inch of word is much less important than the physical effect these will
have on your eyes. The same effect they will have on the silent onlookers here
with you.
